This neighborhood has been on the “up-and-coming” list for several years now, but with the addition of many new restaurants, bars, new builds, and things to do, it’s safe to say that Wedgewood Houston has arrived as one of the top areas to live in Nashville right now. Known for its historical factories turned into art spaces and studios, it’s a unique place that’s sure to spark your creativity.
What to do
Located just south of downtown Nashville, Wedgewood-Houston is a prime location within reach of endless things to do. First up: WeHo Art Crawl on the first Saturday of each month. The best way to explore everything this neighborhood has to offer and explore local art, you can find a list of participating galleries here. Fort Negley Visitors Center and Park is also a great option for history lovers to learn about the happenings in the area during the Civil War.

It’s important to think about your daily routines and errands when looking for a new home, and Wedgewood-Houston is the perfect proximity to everything you need. With grocery stores and big-name favorites close by, it also is home to many local treasures. Local businesses include Cococo, High Note Gifts, Richards Bespoke, and Royal Circus.
Where to eat and drink
A Wedgewood-Houston staple is bar Bastion, located in Houston Station, with a lively bar scene on the weekends and renowned private 24-seat restaurant in the back. A few doors down, you’ll find Earnest Bar and Hideaway, a great choice for any time of day, and if you’re looking for more places to grab a drink within walking distance, Jackalope Brewery at The Ranch, Diskin Cider, Corsair Distillery, pH Cocktails, Never Never, and the Flamingo Cocktail Club are all nearby.
Coffee and breakfast options the next day include Falcon Coffee Bar, Dozen Bakery, Americano Lounge, and the Loading Dock.
Other Wedgewood-Houston long-time food favorites include Clawson’s Pub and Deli, Gabby’s Burgers and Fries, and Santa’s Pub, a beloved karaoke destination.
