10 Things to Do in Nashville During the Spring
Spring is here! The days are longer, the temperatures are warmer, and it’s one of the best times to be outdoors enjoying Nashville. While there’s an endless list of things to do in Nashville during the Spring, here’s what’s on our must-do list for this year:
1. Cheekwood in Bloom
Cheekwood Estates and Gardens features beautiful botanical gardens and an art museum on the historical 55 acres of the Cheek estate. While Cheekwood celebrates the seasons year round, spring is arguably one of the best times to visit to see the gardens in full bloom. Spend an afternoon walking through the gardens, enjoying the art, and don’t forget to check out their events calendar for seasonal celebrations.
2. Cornelia Fort Pickin’ Party
A Nashville staple, Cornelia Fort Pickin’ Parties take place in East Nashville’s Cornelia Fort Airpark once a month. Featuring live music, food trucks, craft beer, and more, attendees are encouraged to bring their own string instruments to take part in the fun. 3. Lucky Ladd Farms
Lucky Ladd Farms is a petting zoo and family “ag-venture” fun park that’s enjoyable for all ages. With pony rides, farm animals, playgrounds, mega slides, and more, you can also shop their fresh and local foods.
4. Percy and Edwin Warner Parks
If you’ve been in Nashville for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard outdoor lovers reference Warner Parks. Just 9 miles from downtown Nashville, they’ll help you escape the bustling city life and connect with nature on one of their many trails and paths.
5. Nashville Zoo
Spring is the perfect time to spend a day at the Nashville Zoo. Located on the south side of Nashville, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is a favorite destination for both residents and visitors alike. For tickets and event information, visit their website.
6. Arrington Vineyards
Although it’s 25 miles south, Nashville’s “wine country” Arrington Vineyards is worth the trip. With shaded picnic areas, multiple tasting rooms, live music in the barn on the weekends, and a delicious variety of wine, Arrington Vineyards is an ideal place to spend a spring day.
7. Centennial Park
Right in front of Nashville’s renowned Parthenon, Centennial Park is the perfect place to walk, run, do yoga, or relax and read a book. If you’re looking for a last-minute plan to spend time outdoors with friends or on your own, Centennial Park is a great choice.
8. Shelby Bottoms
East Nashvillians’ favorite place to spend time in nature is undoubtedly Shelby Bottoms Nature Center and Greenway. More than 950 acres, it’s the perfect location for exercise if you’re on Nashville’s east side.
9. Radnor Lake
Radnor Lake is a favorite spot for taking your time to enjoy the outdoors. While running isn’t allowed, walkers are welcome to take in the peaceful sights and walking paths surrounding Radnor Lake. There are two entrances for parking, so make sure you know where you started!
10. Percy Priest Lake
Percy Priest Lake is Nashville’s go-to destination for those who just can’t wait to get out on the water. With campgrounds, fishing, a marina, and conditions perfect for floating (bring your own tube), it’s the perfect place to go on warm days.
